Canossa Castle
Canossa Castle rises on an isolated arenaceous rock in Reggio Emilia – Italy – Lower Apennines. Surrounded by a suggestive ravines amphitheater, it was the abode of Matilde of Canossa, a powerful feudal lady who was able to dominate all the territories north of the Church States. The image shows the Earth’s rotation creating a typical Northern Hemisphere star-trails. It is recognisable the big dipper on the right-side of the castle and Polaris near the up left corner of the picture.
