According to the north American folklore, the first full Moon after the December solstice, is called the “Wolf Moon”. In the natural world from northern hemisphere, January is the middle of the winter season. For ancestors, it was a frightening time. Food stocks were dwindling – and from one year to the next, there was never a guarantee that they would last till Spring. Furthermore, in January snow gathers deep in the woods and the howling of wolves can be heard echoing in the cold still air. The image, shows the first full Moon of 2015 rising from the “Motor Valley” – northern Italy.
