Where the Heaven smiles
Cottian Alps are located between France and Italy. Near the border, in the pure Queyras national park, ”Col Vieux” represents a natural terrace – 2900 metres above the sea level – where “Lac Foreant” and “Crete de la Taillante” can be admired with their peculiar shape. Due to Earth’s rotation, after 3 hours of star-trails recording, some stars from the Big Dipper asterism seem to paint a light-smile upon the lake surface. In such heavenly circumstances, this was the first time I experienced a total real dark adaptation of my eyes. What an unforgettable vision!
